Rajuk Hosts Third Seminar on Transit Oriented Development.

Dhaka: Rajdhani Unnayan Katripakkha (RAJUK), with assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), held its third seminar on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) in the capital. The event was titled “The Project for Development of Policy and Guideline for Transit Oriented Development Mass Transit Corridors.”

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the seminar focused on the progress of project activities and the content of TOD policies. These draft policies, currently under final review, were presented to the attendees. The seminar is part of an ongoing technical cooperation project with JICA, aimed at developing comprehensive policies and guidelines to enhance mass transit corridors in the city.

The seminar was addressed by key figures including Industries, Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Housing and Public Works Secretary Md Hamidur Rahman Khan, Rajuk Chairman Major General (retd) Md Siddiqur Rahman Sarker, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Directo
r Mohammad Abdur Rouf, and JICA Bangladesh Office Chief Representative ICHIGUCHI Tomohide.

Representatives from various stakeholder organizations were also present, such as the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
