Rajshahi: A discussion meeting and cultural program was held on the occasion of welcoming the Bengali New Year 1433 and the inauguration of the Rajshahi Artists Welfare Association. The event took place on Friday evening at the Lalon Shah Open Stage in the city. The chief guest present at the event was Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation Mahfuzur Rahman Riton.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, at the beginning of the event, leaders of the Rajshahi Artists Welfare Association greeted the chief guest with floral tributes. Following that, on the occasion of the inauguration, the RCC Administrator also greeted the 51-member Executive Committee of the Rajshahi Artists Welfare Association, including President Selim Reza and General Secretary Rezwanul Huda Khan Rubel, with flowers.
Speaking at the event, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton emphasized the efforts of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in building a new Bangladesh. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the residents of Rajshahi metropolitan city, stating, “I am serving the citizens not as an administrator, but as a servant. I am working to make Rajshahi metropolitan city more beautiful, healthy, exquisite, and a city of peace. I seek everyone’s overall cooperation in this work.”
He further acknowledged the contributions of Rajshahi artists at the national level and assured that the Rajshahi City Corporation would provide all possible support to advance the local art and cultural scene.
The event was presided over by the President of Rajshahi Artists Welfare Association, Selim Reza, and conducted by the association’s General Secretary, Rezwanul Huda Khan Rubel. The program featured cultural performances by local artists, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
