Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am. “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country. The highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius in Satkhira, and today’s minimum temperature was 18.5 degrees Celsius in Narayanganj. In the last 24 hours, the highest 121 millimeters of rainfall occurred in Khepupara under Barishal division, followed by 112 millimeters in Hatiya and 104 millimeters in Narayanganj.
