Cox's bazar: Bangladesh Railway today introduced security scanners at the Cox's Bazar Railway Station to ensure passenger security and prevent drug supply and trafficking. Visiting the station, this correspondent observed passengers undergoing security checks along with their baggage.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the railway authority and security forces are jointly conducting the security check operations. Cox's Bazar Railway Station Master Md. Golam Rabbani mentioned that three security scanners have been installed at the Dhaka, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar stations. "We started operation here in Cox's Bazar today. Joint forces are helping us in this regard," he added.
The scanners are capable of detecting drugs, medicines, firearms, and various kinds of goods. Passengers are advised to arrive at the station 30 minutes before their departure time to avoid any inconvenience.
