Raihan, Tajrin Lead New Executive Committee of IU Moot Court Society

Islamic university: The Islamic University Moot Court Society (IUMCS) today announced the formation of a new executive committee for the upcoming year. Raihan Biswas and Ummay Ashratun Tajrin, both from the Law Department and part of the 2019-20 session, have been appointed as president and secretary of IUMCS, respectively. A press release signed by society moderators Professor Dr. Halima Khatun and Professor Dr. Rehena Parvin confirmed these appointments.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the committee includes Talukder M Solaiman and Imam Hossen as Vice Presidents, Tonmoy Ghosh and Mowabbez Rahoman Jim as Joint Secretaries, and Shawana Shamim as Organising Secretary. Other members are Najmul Karim Arnob as Assistant Organising Secretary, Fazle Rabbi Rimon as Treasurer, Humayra Asima as Assistant Treasurer, Tahsina Raisa as Office Secretary, and Musfika Baten as Assistant Office Secretary. Al Zihad Jony and Abdullah All Asad will serve as Research and Academic Secretaries, with Shadman Shoumic Enam and Sohanur Rahman as Assistant Research and Academic Secretaries. Shadman Khan Naahe takes the role of Media and Public Relation Secretary, assisted by Farhan Ishraq. Mohid Ul Islam is the Information and Technology Affairs Secretary, with Akash Sikder as assistant. Solaiman Hossain and Jannatul Karim Shuchi are appointed as Event Affairs Secretaries, while Riyad Hasan Rabby holds the position of External Affairs Secretary, assisted by Arefin Sabbir.



President Raihan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the IUMCS, emphasizing a strategic vision aimed at enhancing the national and international reputation of the Department of Law and Islamic University. He stressed the importance of fostering excellence in advocacy, legal research, and professional competence among students.



The president highlighted the formation of specialized teams to represent the University in national and international moot court competitions and mentioned successful inter-session moots adjudicated by distinguished alumni mooters and judicial magistrates from the University of Dhaka Moot Court Society. Raihan affirmed a commitment to implementing more comprehensive and impactful programmes in the near future.
