RAB arrests three with hemp in Jamalpur

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with a huge quantity of hemp in Bakshiganj Upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon. The arrested persons were identified as Md Eunus Ali, 32, son of Farid Uddin at village Choukidarpara and Md Anowarul Islam, 26, son of Abdul Malek at village Khalisa Kaloa under Kurigram district and Abdur Razzak, 32, son of Abdul Khalek at village Rudraram in Lalmonirhat district. According to Jamalpur RAB-14 sources, acting on a tip off a team of the elite force led by Company Commander, Major Md Abdur Razzak halted a pick-up van and a motorcycle in Hospital road area in Bakshiganj Upazila at 3.50 pm. The team after searching the vehicles recovered 25 kilogram and 550 gram hemp worth of Tk 766500 from four boxes of the pick-up van.
