Pumping of 5,000 Metric Tonnes of Diesel from India Begins

Dhaka: Pumping of 5,000 metric tonnes of refined diesel imported from Numaligarh Refinery in India began this evening. The imported diesel will be transported to the depot of Padma Oil PLC at Parbatipur in Dinajpur through the Bangladesh-India Friendship Pipeline.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Kazi Md Robiul Alam, Manager (Operations) of Meghna Petroleum Limited, stated that the pumping operation started from Numaligarh Refinery around 7 pm Bangladesh time. ‘This consignment contains 5,000 metric tonnes of diesel, and it will take about 45 hours from the start of pumping to reach the Parbatipur depot. The diesel is expected to arrive around 5 pm next Saturday,’ he added.
