Dhaka: The newly appointed Chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), Professor Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian, took his oath today. Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury administered the ceremony at the Supreme Court Judges lounge in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the oath-taking ceremony was attended by members, the secretary, and officials concerned with the PSC. The event marks a significant moment for the PSC as Professor Bhuian steps into his new role.
On September 2, 2026, the President appointed Professor Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuiyan as the PSC Chairman in the public interest, under Article 138(1) of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. In accordance with Article 139(1) of the Constitution, Professor Bhuian is set to serve as the chairman for a term of five years from the date he assumes office, or until he reaches the age of 65, whichever comes earlier.
