Accra:According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Transfer of Property (Amendment) Bill, 2026, has introduced a new mechanism for transferring property while maintaining existing provisions for Heba (gift) and property transfers.
This bill allows donors to retain possession and enjoyment of a gifted property during their lifetime, even after transferring it to specific family members. The amendment includes new Sections 122A and 122B under Section 122 of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882.
The Ministry of Home Affairs' Political-2 Branch disclosed this information in a letter, noting that the bill was introduced in the National Parliament on September 6.
