Khulna: The government has appointed Professor Dr Md Ruhul Amin, Dean of the Faculty of Surgery at Bangladesh Medical University, as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna Medical University (KMU) for a four-year term.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued the appointment notification on Monday (August 4), signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Sanjeeb Das. The notification stated that the appointment will be effective from the date of joining.
The appointment includes a provision that allows the President and Chancellor to cancel it at any time if necessary. Since May 2 this year, Khulna Medical University has been functioning without a VC, which severely affected operations.
