Pace spearhead Taskin Ahmed was hugely motivated

after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina advised him to play well in the upcoming

Asia Cup and World Cup and bring the laurel for the country.

Apart from this, the Premier wished the Bangladesh cricket team well.

The Prime Minister gave this advice while presenting the Sheikh Kamal

National Sports Council (NSC) Award to Taskin at the Osmani Memorial

Auditorium in the capital today.

For their outstanding contribution in the respective field of sports, a total

of 10 sports personalities, two organisations received the prestigious Sheikh

Kamal National Sports Council (NSC) Award 2023.

Ministry of Youth and Sports organised the ceremony on the occasion of the

74th birth anniversary of valiant Freedom Fighter Shaheed Captain Sheikh

Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur

Rahman.

“Actually, the Prime Minister was asking about the cricket events. She

himself was saying that Asia Cup and World Cup are ahead. Good wishes for

everyone and play well.”

While handing over the crest to Taskin, Sheikh Hasina is seen saying

something to him. The lanky pacer also nodded his head. The video of that

moment went viral on social media.

This pacer who had already established him as one of the finest pacer the

country has ever produced got the national award for the first time.

“For the first time I have received a national award from the honorable Prime

Minister. It’s a matter of great pride for me. It feels so good,” an elated

Taskin said.
