Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday called upon individuals across all sectors, including businesspeople, young entrepreneurs, and researchers, to unite in building a prosperous and desired Bangladesh. Speaking at the inauguration of the Bangladesh Innovation Fair-2026 at Novo Theatre, he emphasized the necessity of collective effort to achieve national aspirations.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister appealed for collaboration from entrepreneurs, businesspeople, and researchers, assuring them of the government's steadfast support. He stressed the importance of synergy among government entities, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and financial institutions to propel the nation's growth.
During the event, Tarique Rahman highlighted the valuable insights shared by speakers, particularly Dr. Anisuzzaman, which have charted a strategic path for the country's future endeavors. He expressed confidence that the implementation of these discussions could lead the nation to its desired milestones.
The Prime Minister underscored the critical role of innovation and entrepreneurship in the nation's progress, urging stakeholders to present creative solutions addressing the state's current challenges. He reiterated the government's call for support from all sectors to achieve these objectives.
The event featured addresses from prominent figures, including Science and Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam, Prime Minister's Adviser Rehan Asif Asad, and BUET Professor Dr. Muhammad Anisuzzaman Talukder. The fair aims to bridge the gap between local innovation and market opportunities, fostering sustainable partnerships among various stakeholders.
Participants include public and private research organizations, universities, independent researchers, startups, and global investors, showcasing over 1,000 innovations across diverse sectors. Organizers highlighted the fair's objectives to overcome administrative and financial obstacles, protect intellectual property, and facilitate commercial expansion.
On the sidelines, bKash CEO Kamal Quadir demonstrated to the Prime Minister how mobile financial services are increasing accessibility to financial solutions for citizens. The demonstration featured bKash's digital loan and savings solutions, illustrating the impact of digital finance on broadening access to formal financial services.
The second day of the fair will host an international session on healthcare innovation, focusing on expanding affordable healthcare access. Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Vice-President of Ziaur Rahman Foundation, is slated to attend as the chief guest.
The fair's strategic partners include the National Board of Revenue, Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, and Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the United Nations Development Programme serving as the technical partner.
