Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Urges Children to Become Ambassadors of Bangladesh

Khulna:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday emphasized the importance of children excelling in both academics and extracurricular activities, such as sports, arts, and culture, to build a strong and prosperous Bangladesh. He made these remarks while inaugurating the second season of the 'Notun Kuri Sports-2026-27' competition at Khulna District Stadium.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister underscored that academic education alone is insufficient for success. Tarique Rahman highlighted the government's commitment to creating an environment conducive to both education and cultural engagement.

The Prime Minister noted the impressive performances by students from the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) in sports, dance, music, and other cultural activities at the event. He urged children nationwide to cultivate talents in various fields and mentioned the registration of over 16 lakh children for the Notun Kuri Sports competition, with the finals slated for June next year.

Additionally, Tarique Rahman emphasized the value of learning a third language alongside Bangla and English, offering children the choice of six or seven foreign languages. He expressed confidence that mastering academics, sports, and languages would elevate Bangladesh on the global stage.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the competition in 503 upazilas across the country and enjoyed performances by BKSP and Chinese students. The event concluded with the addition of volleyball and table tennis to the competition, now featuring ten disciplines for children aged 10 to 14.
