Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to Inaugurate Key Projects and Programmes in Sylhet

Sylhet: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will go to Sylhet on a daylong tour tomorrow. During the visit he will inaugurate different projects and programmes. He will also offer prayers at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and address a public meeting.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tour schedule details that the premier will arrive in Sylhet by air at 10:00 am. His first stop will be the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA). Following this, he will attend a foundation laying ceremony for a project launched by Sylhet City Corporation aimed at resolving water logging issues in the city. This programme is set to take place at Chandni Ghat, adjacent to the Sylhet Circuit House, where he will also address a civic rally.



Later in the day, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the re-excavation programme of the Baisha River located in Kashipur Union under Sylhet Sadar Upazila. In the afternoon, Tarique Rahman will formally open ‘Notun Kuri Sports-2026’, an initiative organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at Sylhet District Stadium, aiming to scout for new sports talents.



Additionally, he is scheduled to participate in a meeting at the Shilpakala Academy before returning to Dhaka in the evening. This visit marks his first official trip to Sylhet since assuming the office of Prime Minister, following his visit for an election campaign on January 21 last year.
