Dhaka:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasized the importance of individual initiatives in inspiring societal and national progress during a meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat. He met with three individuals recognized for their contributions to education and environmental protection, praising their efforts and promising support.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the individuals included Naila Sharaf, a BUET graduate who chose a career in primary school teaching; Md Altaf Hossain, who founded a school despite being born without hands; and Rezaul Kibria Babul, known for his extensive tree-planting efforts. Prime Minister Rahman acknowledged their struggles and contributions, stating, "The country needs people like you to build the nation."

Naila Sharaf's career choice was notably discussed. After graduating from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, she opted for teaching at Panchananpur Government Primary School in Netrokona over a government job. She has been developing teaching aids and digital content to assist underprivileged children.

Md Altaf Hossain, from Narsingdi, established Protibha Dukhu Mia Kindergarten School in 2007, overcoming his disability of being born without hands. Using his feet, he manages the school’s activities, which now serves 145 students with 10 teachers. The Prime Minister assured Altaf of assistance for constructing a new school building.

Rezaul Kibria Babul, from Char Fasson in Bhola, has dedicated nearly 30 years to planting trees, using his resources and labor. He has planted thousands of trees as a mosque imam, contributing to environmental protection and community well-being.

The Prime Minister encouraged these individuals to continue their initiatives and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting their work.
