Kuala Lumpur:Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has not yet received the resignation letter from Transport Minister Anthony Loke. He briefly commented, "Wait for the resignation letter," when questioned about Loke's intention to leave the Cabinet.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke had offered to resign after a DAP Central Executive Committee meeting on September 19, in response to the conditional pardon granted to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Loke, who is also the Seremban MP, stated he would submit his resignation letter upon returning to Malaysia from China.
In another matter, Anwar addressed the order from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) suspending all Perikatan Nasional (PN) activities related to the upcoming Melaka state election. He advised that the issue should be directed to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. The RoS issued the suspension order, effective September 23, under Subsection 13(2A) of the Societies Act 1966, following a notice to PN on September 22.
