Prime Accused Confesses to Killing Pallabi Jubo Dal Leader Kibria

Dhaka: Jony Bhuiyan, the prime accused in the case concerning the killing of Pallabi Thana Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria, has confessed to the crime. He provided a statement under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), admitting to killing Kibria inside a hardware store.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman recorded Jony’s confessional statement and subsequently ordered that he be sent back to jail. The confession marks a significant development in the case that has gripped the local community.



Locals apprehended Jony in the Pallabi Section-12 area late on November 17, handing him over to the police. This citizen’s arrest came after heightened tensions and community interest in bringing the perpetrators to justice.



The case statement reveals that three masked and helmeted assailants entered the store around 6:30 pm, located in Mirpur-12 Block-C under Pallabi Police Station, and fatally shot Kibria. The victim’s widow, Sabiha Akter Dina, filed the case, which names five individuals and includes seven to eight unidentified others as suspects.



The incident has shocked the local community, with many calling for swift justice and increased security measures in the area to prevent further violence.
