Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament Concludes Successfully in Narail

Narail: The Narail Primary School Gold Cup football tournament, held in conjunction with the Festival of Youth 2025, took place at the Birshreshtha Nur Mohammad Stadium in Narail on Monday. The event featured both boys' and girls' football teams competing for the coveted Gold Cup.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tournament was officially inaugurated by Narail Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akter Jahan, who attended as the chief guest. The competition was organized by the District Primary Office in Narail, aiming to foster sportsmanship and promote physical fitness among primary school students.

Special guests at the inaugural function included Narail Police Superintendent Kazi Ehsanul Kabir, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md. Ahsan Mahmud Russell, and Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Sanchita Biswas. The ceremony was presided over by District Primary Education Officer Md Jahangir Alam, who expressed hope that the event would help students develop holistically.

The tournament concluded with the final match held in the afternoon. Teachers from various primary schools across the district's three upazilas attended both the opening and closing ceremonies, showing their support for the young participants.

District Primary Education Officer Md. Jahangir Alam stated that the purpose of the football tournament was to boost students' morale and encourage their physical, mental, and artistic growth alongside their academic education.
