President Stresses Resolving Challenges Facing RMG Sector

Dhaka: President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday emphasized the importance of addressing the ongoing challenges within Bangladesh's ready-made garment (RMG) industry. He conveyed these views during a courtesy call by a delegation from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), led by its President Mahmud Hasan Khan, at Bangabhaban.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the BGMEA delegation informed the President about the current issues plaguing the garment industry and sought his cooperation in finding solutions. In response, President Alamgir assured the delegation that necessary measures would be taken to address their concerns. He highlighted the government's commitment to tackling the long-standing mismanagement and irregularities within the industry.

The President stated, "The government is making its utmost efforts to resolve the existing problems as soon as possible," demonstrating the administration's dedication to the sector's improvement. Additionally, the BGMEA delegation extended an invitation to the President to attend the closing ceremony of the 25th BATEXPO 2026 as the chief guest. The event is set for November 19, 2026, at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre. The President expressed optimism about attending the ceremony.
