Pabna: President Mohammed Shahabuddin offered doa at the graves of his parents, other family members, and relatives at ‘Pabna Sadar Central Graveyard’ in Arifpur here today, marking the second day of his visit to his hometown Pabna. The Head of the State paid his respects at the graves of his parents – Sharifuddin Ansari and Khairunnessa – and other relatives at the Arifpur graveyard at about 12:30 pm.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, President’s spouse Dr. Rebeka Sultana, his nephews, Bangabhaban officials, Pabna deputy commissioner, superintendent of police of the district, and some other family members were present during the munajat at the graveyard. President Shahabuddin is currently on a four-day visit to his hometown of Pabna, which began last Saturday.
This visit marks his fourth trip to Pabna district since assuming office, and it is the first since the formation of the new government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). As per his visit schedule, the President is expected to return to Dhaka on March 31.
