President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to Visit Thakurgaon on September 6

Thakurgaon: President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is set to visit his hometown Thakurgaon on a two-day tour beginning September 6. This will mark the President's inaugural visit to his home district since assuming office.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the President will attend a civic reception as the chief guest on the first day of his visit, as stated in a Bangabhaban press release. On the following day, September 7, he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Thakurgaon University. During his brief stay, President Alamgir will also offer prayers at the graves of his parents and engage in discussions with local residents.

The program schedule indicates that the head of state is set to return to Dhaka on September 7. Meanwhile, extensive preparations are underway across Thakurgaon in anticipation of the President's visit, with local residents expressing enthusiasm over his arrival.

A festive atmosphere has enveloped Thakurgaon city and its surrounding areas following the announcement of the visit. "After hearing the news of the President's visit to Thakurgaon, a joyous atmosphere has emerged among local people. Everyone is eagerly waiting to see the President," commented Tanvir Hasan Tanu, general secretary of Thakurgaon Press Club. As part of the preparations to welcome the President, cleaning and painting works are in progress along major roads, at intersections, and around government offices throughout the city.
