Dhaka:President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir emphasized the significance of differences of opinion, constructive criticism, and peaceful protests as the core aspects of democracy. He noted that the politics of revenge impedes the development of democracy during a meeting with a delegation from Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Enamullah at Bangabhaban.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the Vice-Chancellor provided the President with an overview of the university's academic activities. He mentioned a government allocation of Tk 600 crore aimed at developing the university's infrastructure.

The President assured the delegation of his assistance and encouraged the university authorities to sustain the quality of education while expanding higher education opportunities in the less-developed northern region.

Furthermore, when the HSTU Vice-Chancellor invited the President to the university's upcoming convocation, he accepted the invitation. The meeting was attended by the President's Military Secretary, Secretary, and Press Secretary, as well as the university's pro-vice-chancellor, treasurer, and registrar.
