President Emphasizes Role of Chartered Accountants in Financial Transparency

Dhaka:President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the country's chartered accountants to uphold integrity and professionalism to ensure institutional transparency and accountability.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the President's remarks came during a meeting with a six-member delegation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), led by its President Sabbir Ahmed, at Bangabhaban. The President highlighted the critical role that chartered accountants and audit professionals play in maintaining financial discipline across government, private, and state-owned institutions, as well as in preserving investor confidence.

In the meeting, the ICAB delegation informed the President about their organization's activities and extended an invitation for him to attend an international conference in November, organized by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). President Alamgir accepted the invitation and confirmed his attendance at the event. The meeting was also attended by the President's secretaries and senior officials.
