President Calls for Unity to Build Democratic Bangladesh Inspired by November 7 Spirit

Dhaka:President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called upon all citizens to work together to build a democratic, just, humane, and secure Bangladesh by eliminating corruption, discrimination, and conspiracies, inspired by the spirit of November 7. He made this call in a message on the eve of the National Revolution and Solidarity Day, which will be observed tomorrow.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the President urged everyone to remain united in their commitment to safeguarding national independence and sovereignty, rising above political differences. Fakhrul extended heartfelt greetings to all citizens of Bangladesh and paid tribute to the valiant soldiers and patriotic people who participated in the revolution on November 7, 1975.

The President emphasized that November 7 is an unforgettable day in Bangladesh's national life and a defining moment in its history. He highlighted that during a period of misrule, corruption, and conspiracies, the united revolution of soldiers and people restored the country's independence and sovereignty. Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was freed from captivity and entrusted with governing the state, emerging as a savior of the nation.

Fakhrul noted the unprecedented national awakening inspired by the spirit of independence and the unity demonstrated by the Armed Forces in safeguarding the country's sovereignty. He also mentioned the mass uprising of 2024, where the unity of students, women, men, the Armed Forces, and people from all walks of life ended sixteen years of fascist rule.

He stated that Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman restored multiparty democracy, the rule of law, and freedoms, laying the foundations for economic and social progress. Fakhrul emphasized that national independence and sovereignty have been repeatedly challenged, and democracy has been undermined, but collective efforts have put Bangladesh back on the path of democracy under an elected government.

To continue this journey, the President stressed the need to strengthen democratic institutions and resolve national challenges through mutual respect and dialogue, with the National Parliament at the center. He concluded by wishing success for all programs marking the Great National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
