President asks political leaders to maintain good relations with people

President M Abdul Hamid today asked political leaders and public representatives to maintain good relations with the people.

"Maintain a good relation with common people," President told the local political leaders, elected people's representatives and local dignitaries and officials concerned here.

The Head of the State was exchanging views with them at 'Rashtrapati Abdul Hamid Auditorium' at Itna Upazila of the district.

Expressing his gratitude to the people of the area for electing him repeatedly as a member of parliament (MP), President Hamid said he used to work for overall development of the haor region throughout his life, not for his personal interest.

Abdul Hamid advised the local leaders or elected representatives to always evaluate the people without neglecting them in a bid to get their (people) love and faith.

Local lawmakers M. Afzal Hossain and Rezwan Ahammad Taufiq also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, the Head of State visited various development activities in Mithamin and Itna upazilas.

He is scheduled to visit the "Mithamoin Cantonment" and some other development activities tomorrow.

The President will return Dhaka tomorrow afternoon after wrapping up his three-day tour to his native district.
