Barishal: All preparations for the Sharodiyo Durga Puja celebration have been completed here, with festivities set to begin on Mahasashti. The biggest festival of the Hindu community will commence a day later with Mahasashti.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Barishal Metropolitan Police and other law enforcement agencies have taken strict security measures centering Durga Puja. Commander of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-8, Lieutenant Colonel Nistar Ahmed, stated that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure safety at every puja mandap.
Addressing a press briefing, he mentioned that members of law enforcement agencies, including police, RAB, and Ansar, remain alert to ensure security at all puja mandaps as RAB's three-tier security has been enforced for the festival. "Patrols and intelligence surveillance will monitor all mandaps to ensure the smooth celebration of Puja. Cyber monitoring is continuing, and social media has been brought under surveillance," Ahmed said.
Senior RAB officials visited various puja mandaps in Barishal today. Durga Puja will be celebrated with 2,123 mandaps in the region.
