Dhaka: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Azaz today announced that all necessary preparations for waste management during the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha have been finalized. He made this statement while presiding over a preparatory meeting on waste management with officials and employees from the Waste Management Department at the DNCC conference room, as stated in a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting disclosed that 15 volunteers in each ward will be appointed to assist with waste management during the Eid period. In his remarks, the Administrator mentioned that health insurance coverage will be introduced for those who work continuously to maintain the city’s cleanliness.
Furthermore, steps will be taken to recruit staff quickly to fill vacant posts in order to address the corporation’s manpower shortage. The Administrator also instructed all concerned parties to ensure the swift removal of sacrificial waste during the Eid festival.
DNCC’s Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore ABM Shamsul Alam, along with officials and employees of the Waste Management Department, attended the meeting.
