Rajshahi: Special prayers were held across the city for the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at the CCU of Evercare Hospital in the capital, Dhaka. BNP organized these prayers in mosques across the city today after Juma prayers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Mijanur Rahman Minu, speaking briefly before the doa at Guljarbag Jame Mosque, emphasized that Begum Khaleda Zia is not only a political leader but also a "Symbol of struggle for democracy, human rights and people's freedom." He called upon the people to pray sincerely for her quick recovery so that she can "stand beside the nation again."
Her lifelong sacrifices for democracy and humanity remain a source of inspiration. Prayers were also offered for the peace and welfare of the country. A large number of leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies participated in the event. The gathering concluded with a special munajat seeking Khaleda Zia's early recovery, long life, and the well-being of the nation.
Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) also held a doa mahfil at its central jame mosque for the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. Simultaneously, prayers were offered in temples, churches, pagodas, and other religious places of worship for her recovery.
