Bagerhat: A prayer and iftar mahfil took place at the Khanjahan Ali College ground in Bagerhat on Tuesday afternoon, with the aim of seeking eternal peace for the late former BNP Chairperson and three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, as well as Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and Arafat Rahman Koko.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was presided over by the convener of the district BNP, Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim. Barrister Sheikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain, the newly appointed administrator of Bagerhat Zila Parishad, attended as the chief guest. The gathering witnessed the presence of several notable figures, including former MP Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, former secretary Mashiur Rahman, BNP leader Khan Monir Hossain, district BNP member secretary Muzaffar Rahman Alam, municipal BNP president Sheikh Shahed Ali Robi, and general secretary Obaidul Islam Jewel. Leaders and activists from the district BNP and its affiliates also participated in the mahfil.
The event underscored the continued influence and memory of Begum Khaleda Zia, a prominent figure in Bangladesh's political landscape. The presence of various BNP leaders and affiliates highlighted the unity and respect for the late leader and her contributions to the nation.
