Natore: A special prayer was held here seeking eternal peace for the late former BNP Chairperson and three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The prayer event was organized by members of the local Hindu community in the Roy Amhati area of the district town around 11:00 am. BNP-nominated candidate from Natore-2 constituency Advocate M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu attended the programme as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dulu highlighted Begum Khaleda Zia’s respect across all religious communities and her dedication to the welfare of the country. He emphasized her commitment to democracy and the people, which often involved personal risk.
Dulu further mentioned that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is now leading the party, following the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, and expressed confidence in his future leadership of the nation.
Professor Sushant Kumar Sarkar, Head of the Neuromedicine Department of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, presided over the programme. The event was also attended by District BNP convener Rahim Newaz, former Natore Municipality mayor Kazi Shah Alam, District Ulama Dal general secretary Shafiqul Islam, and representatives from the local Hindu community, including Krishna Pad Sarkar and Manoj Kumar Sarkar.
