Dhaka: The Potato Festival 2025 is set to begin at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka on December 12, 2025. Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, President of the Bangladesh Cold Storage Association (BCSA), announced the event at a program titled 'Potato Festival 2025 ---- Meet The Press' held at the BCSA office in the capital today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the press conference was attended by notable guests including BCSA Senior Vice President Eshtiaque Ahmed, Vice President Mohammed Younus, and Managing Director of Postmaster Communication Faizul Alam, alongside other leaders of the Association. Mostofa Azad highlighted that the festival aims to introduce Bangladesh's potato industry to the global stage, showcasing modern technologies, and expanding investment and export opportunities both locally and internationally.

The festival will address the diversified uses of potatoes, their export potential, strategic planning, modern preservation technologies, and the expansion of Bangladesh's potato processing industry. Despite ranking 7th globally and 3rd in Asia for potato production, Bangladesh faces challenges in fully harnessing its potential due to inadequate modern storage systems, processing technologies, and export-friendly infrastructure.

The international exhibition will feature hundreds of domestic and foreign organizations engaged in various sectors such as potato production, storage, processing, value addition, export, cold-chain technology, agricultural machinery, food innovation, and culinary arts.
