Dhaka: Registration of expatriate voters through the 'Postal Vote BD' app, designed to facilitate voting from abroad for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections, will remain open until December 25. The app, launched on November 18, aims to ensure that Bangladeshis living overseas can participate in the upcoming elections.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) has announced that government employees who are unable to vote at their designated centers can also register through the 'Postal Vote BD' app. Citizens who have yet to register are encouraged to do so within the given timeframe, while those residing in Bangladesh are urged to motivate their relatives abroad to register and exercise their voting rights.
The app requires expatriate Bangladeshis to provide a correct home address to receive postal ballots by mail. If necessary, an alternative address, such as that of a friend, relative, or a nearby well-known institution or building, can be used.
