Portfolios Distributed Among New Ministers and State Ministers in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Portfolios of the newly formed government have been distributed among the ministers and state ministers, who were sworn in yesterday afternoon. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman distributed the portfolios, according to a gazette notification of the cabinet division.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath to the new prime minister, ministers, and state ministers at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban yesterday afternoon. The notification outlines the allocation of various ministries to the appointed members of the government.



Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir MP has been assigned to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Co-operatives, while Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury MP will lead both the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning. Other key ministerial appointments include Salahuddin Ahmed MP for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Iqbal Hasan Mahmud MP for the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.



Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikrom MP takes charge of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, and Abu Jafar Md. Zahid Hossain MP is appointed to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and the Ministry of Social Welfare. Abdul Awal Mintoo MP will oversee the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, while Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad is assigned to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.



The portfolios for other ministries have also been designated, including Mizanur Rahman Minu MP for the Ministry of Land and Nitai Roy Chowdhury MP for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Khandaker Abdul Muktadir MP is entrusted with the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industries, and Ministry of Textiles and Jute.



For the Ministry of Labour and Employment, and Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, Ariful Haque Choudhury MP has been appointed. Afroza Khanam Rita MP will manage the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, and Dipen Dewan MP oversees the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.



The newly appointed state ministers will support various departments, including M Rashiduzzaman Millat MP for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and Anindya Islam Amit MP for the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources. Md. Shariful Alam MP will assist in the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industries, and Ministry of Textiles and Jute.



Other state ministers include Forhad Hossain Azad MP for the Ministry of Water Resources and Shama Obayed Islam for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others. The comprehensive list outlines the government’s structure aimed at facilitating its operations effectively across various sectors.
