Dhaka: Actress Pori Moni today filed a case against her former domestic help and four media outlets, accusing them of spreading false, fabricated, and defamatory news against her. The other accused in the case are Morshed Sumon, publisher of Sakol Khabor, as well as publishers of Pratidiner Bangladesh Entertainment, People News, and Digital Khabor.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the case was lodged with the Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka, where Judge Md Nur A Alam recorded Pori Moni’s statement. The judge then directed the officer-in-charge of Vatara Police Station to submit an investigation report by July 8.
The case statement reveals that Pori Moni had appointed Pinky Akter as her housemaid on March 5 through ‘Kader Agency’ to care for her child. However, on April 2, Pinky left the actress’s residence and allegedly provided false and fabricated information to the media.
The statement further alleges that the media outlets published news based on misleading and fabricated claims, inciting public backlash against the actress.
