Sherpur: The Forest Department today released a porcupine into the Madhutila Eco Park after rescuing it from a locality in Nalitabari upazila of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the wild animal was initially rescued from the Uttar Katabari area of Pauragaon Union within the same upazila. Madhutila Range Officer Md Dewan Ali stated that this species is protected under Schedule-1 of the Wildlife (Conservation and Protection) Act, 2012. As a result, the porcupine was safely relocated to a secure forest environment.
