Narsingdi: The announcement of the election schedule for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election has sparked widespread enthusiasm and excitement among people across the district. Moments after the Election Commission declared the schedule on Thursday evening, a festive atmosphere was observed in various parts of the district-from political circles to ordinary voters.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in areas such as Brahmandi, Paschim Brahmandi, Shapla Chattar, and Meghna Mor in Narsingdi town, people were seen engaging in lively discussions about the upcoming election. Tea stalls, markets, and bus terminals transformed into buzzing spaces where voters talked about the emerging electoral climate. Similar scenes were reported from Palash, Monohardi, Raipura, Shibpur, and Belabo upazilas. Many took to social media to welcome the announcement, flooding local Facebook groups with posts such as "The election festival begins," "Time for change," and "Another step towards democracy."

Sharif Ahmed, Assistant Secretary for Student Affairs of the Narsingdi District BNP, expressed, "With the announcement of the schedule, the election process has formally begun. We want to cast our votes peacefully. We hope this time the country will witness a good, participatory election. The young generation will choose Tarique Rahman in the upcoming polls." Abdul Kuddus Mia, a farmer from Bakhrnagar village under Alokbali Union in Sadar upazila, echoed this sentiment, stating, "We had long been waiting for the announcement of the schedule. All we want now is to vote peacefully."

Political parties at both district and upazila levels have also welcomed the announcement. Leaders assert that the schedule will now accelerate their organizational activities at the grassroots. Potential candidates have begun preparations for posters, leaflets, and campaigns. Amjad Hossain, Secretary General of Narsingdi District Jamaat-e-Islami, remarked, "With the announcement of the schedule, the election train has started its journey. No extortionist candidate will win this time. The young generation will accept those who are qualified and morally upright."

The district administration and police department have stated that they are taking necessary measures to maintain order and ensure a peaceful electoral environment following the schedule announcement. Election observers in Narsingdi believe the declaration has infused renewed vibrancy into the district's political atmosphere. A peaceful and participatory election is now everyone's expectation.

Manjur Elahi, General Secretary of the Narsingdi District BNP, noted, "With the announcement of the schedule, BNP will work toward building an inequality-free country. Through the implementation of our 31-point agenda, we will build a prosperous Bangladesh."
