Dhaka: Distinguished Fellow of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, emphasized that political stability is essential for ensuring sustainable investment in the country. He highlighted this point while addressing a shadow parliament on the topic of ‘the potentials and challenges of FDI in the country’ held at BFDC in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Mustafizur noted that the recently held Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 has opened avenues for attracting more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country. He expressed optimism that if the investment-friendly environment prevails, Bangladesh could achieve further prosperity in the coming years.
Dr. Mustafizur also pointed out discrepancies during the previous AL regime, citing that only $11 billion in FDI was received during the Seventh Five Year Plan period, despite a target of $33 billion. The event was organized by Debate for Democracy, with Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron presiding over the session.
