Police Inspector Attacked by Muggers in Khulna

Khulna:A police inspector was seriously injured following a machete attack by suspected muggers in Khulna city early Friday.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the incident occurred around 230 am when three unidentified muggers intercepted Shah Alam, 43, an inspector at Khulna Police Lines, in front of Collegiate School under Khulna Sadar Police Station. He was returning from a special police operation in Rupsha upazila at the time.

The attackers stole his mobile phone and money before assaulting him with machetes, inflicting severe injuries above both wrists.

Shah Alam was initially treated at Khulna Medical College Hospital. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for further care.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Khulna, Shiful Islam, stated that legal action is underway regarding the attack.
