Dhaka: Bangladesh Police Football Club emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Dhaka Wanderers Club in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football held at Bashundhara Kings Arena today. The match saw Police FC making a stunning comeback after trailing behind, with goals from Mannaf Rabby and Esanur Rahman securing the win. Dhaka Wanderers initially took the lead through a penalty converted by Md Emon in the 42nd minute. However, Police FC responded with determination in the final minutes, as Rabby equalized in the 84th minute, followed by Rahman clinching the victory with a decisive goal in the 86th minute.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the win places Police FC in a stronger position as they prepare for their last group match against Brothers Union Club on January 31. In contrast, Dhaka Wanderers Club, who have yet to secure a win in the tournament, will face Bashundhara Kings in their final group match on the same day. Police FC's journey in the tournament has been a mix of results, with a previous goalless draw against Fortis FC and a narrow 3-2 defeat to Bashundhara Kings Arena earlier in the group stage.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Wanderers Club have struggled to find form, suffering heavy defeats in their group matches. Their campaign began with a significant 8-0 loss to Brothers Union Club, followed by a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Fortis FC. As the teams gear up for their concluding group stage fixtures, both will be aiming to finish on a high note amidst a challenging competition.
