Police Arrests 4 Leaders and Activists of Banned Organisation in Uttara

Dhaka: A police team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today arrested four leaders and activists of a banned organisation in the Uttara area of the capital. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a DMP press release issued today stated that the arrests were made as the individuals were allegedly preparing to bring out a procession under the Uttara West Police Station area.

The press release identified the arrested individuals as Junayed Mridha, aged 19, Rakibul Hasan Pappu, aged 23, Sazzad Hossain Shuvo, aged 19, and Md Abdullah, aged 19. Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at around 1:15 pm near the Abdullahpur Flyover. The activists were allegedly preparing to initiate a procession, as per the Uttara West Police.

Police apprehended the individuals at the scene and a banner was seized from the location, the DMP reported. Legal proceedings against the arrested persons are currently underway.
