Dhaka: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam on Wednesday urged the media not to give undue importance to reports regarding the Prime Minister's foreign visits until an official announcement is made by the government.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the State Minister addressed reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs amid media reports claiming that the Prime Minister would visit Malaysia on June 21-22 before traveling to China later in the month. She emphasized that invitations have been received from many countries, but the decision regarding the timing and destination of the Prime Minister's visits rests solely with him.

The State Minister pointed out that news reports published by various media outlets about the Prime Minister's possible visits should not be treated as confirmed information unless an official statement is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Prime Minister's Office. She advised against taking such reports seriously or making comments on them without official confirmation.

She further stated that the details of any foreign visit by the Prime Minister would be formally announced by the Prime Minister's press wing once the visit is finalized. Shama Obaed also highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relations with all countries and assured that the Prime Minister would make appropriate decisions regarding future visits.
