Pallabi: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will meet the family members of eight-year-old Ramisa Akter, who was recently killed in the city's Pallabi area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister's Press Wing stated that the Prime Minister is scheduled to leave for Ramisa's home around 9 pm following a cabinet meeting at the secretariat this evening. The visit aims to express condolences to the grieving family members over the tragic death of the child.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will engage in discussions with the family members, offering condolences and support in the wake of the incident. Earlier, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed assured that exemplary punishment would be ensured swiftly.
Ramisa, a second-grade student, was killed on Tuesday by a tenant living in a neighboring flat in Pallabi. Police reported that suspect Sohel Rana allegedly lured the child into his room after she left her home in the morning. Her dismembered body was found beneath a bed, with her head discovered inside a bucket in the bathroom of Sohel's flat.
Local residents detained the suspect's wife, Swapna Akter, while Sohel Rana managed to escape by cutting through a window grill. He was later arrested in the Fatullah area of Narayanganj on Tuesday evening. The accused provided a confessional statement before a Dhaka court on Wednesday.
