Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today announced that his government will take swift action to remove dealers of ration and fertilizer who were recruited during the tenure of the previous fascist regime. This statement was made in response to a question posed by Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni during a session of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS), with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, presiding.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni raised concerns that the current dealers responsible for distributing ration and fertilizer are harassing ordinary citizens and attempting to create artificial shortages in the market. He emphasized the necessity of canceling the recruitment of these old dealers and appointing new ones in order to ensure that farmers receive fertilizer at fair prices and to purge the system of fascist elements.
In response, Prime Minister Rahman noted that the suggestion received widespread approval across the parliamentary floor. He expressed that if there is consensus within the parliament regarding this issue, the government would indeed take prompt action to address it.
The members of parliament showed their support for the prime minister’s response by thumping their desks, indicating their approval of the proposed initiative.
