PM Tarique Rahman to Address Nation at 9:45pm

Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will address the nation at 9:45 pm on Wednesday, a day after being sworn in following a massive election victory. Initially scheduled for 7 pm, the address time was rescheduled, as confirmed by BNP Media Cell member Atikur Rahman Rumon. Bangladesh Television will broadcast the address live.



According to United News of Bangladesh, Information Minister Zahiruddin Swapan had earlier announced that the Prime Minister would address the nation at 7 pm. Tarique Rahman took the oath as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Tuesday, after his party secured a landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary election on February 12, capturing 209 out of 297 parliamentary seats.



President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his newly appointed ministers at the South Plaza of Parliament on Tuesday. The new government comprises 25 ministers and 24 state ministers, with several new faces taking on roles in the administration.
