Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday provided financial assistance to various religious institutions in Dhaka-17 constituency, including mosques, madrasas, and Hindu temples. The Prime Minister handed over cheques to representatives of the respective mosques and temples at the BNP Chairperson's Office in Gulshan in the afternoon.
According to United News of Bangladesh, a total of 28 mosques in Dhaka-17 received Tk 247,000 each. Additionally, 10 temples received Tk 300,000 each, totaling Tk 30 lakh, ahead of the Sharadiya Durga Puja. The financial assistance was provided to support the activities of the religious institutions and help ensure smooth arrangements for the Durga Puja celebrations.
