Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reached Sangshad Bhaban to attend the first session of the 13th parliament.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the 13th session of the National Parliament is scheduled to commence at 11:00 am today. PM’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibly confirmed that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived at the venue for this significant event.
Earlier, on February 23, President Mohammad Shahabuddin summoned the session for March 12. The President, as the head of the state, exercised his constitutional power under Article 72 (1) to convene the session. This article mandates that the President must call the first session of the new parliament within 30 days following the publication of the parliamentary election results.
