Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday discussed with the authorities concerned measures to curb pollution in Gulshan Lake, beautify areas and enhance civic amenities around the lake. The discussions were held at an important meeting on the development and environmental protection of the Gulshan-Banani-Baridhara Lake at the Prime Minister's Office in the Bangladesh Secretariat, said a release issued by the PM's Press Wing.
According to United News of Bangladesh, detailed discussions were held at the meeting on various issues, including curbing pollution in Gulshan Lake, maintaining ecological balance, beautification, and improving civic amenities around the lake. Officials concerned highlighted the current condition of the lake and shared their views on various plans and initiatives for its sustainable development.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam, and Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar. Key city administrators, such as the Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation Abdus Salam and the Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation Safiqul Islam Khan, were also present, alongside PM's Assistant Private Secretary and representative for Dhaka-17 constituency Abdur Rahman Sani, and Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkah Chairman Engineer Md Reazul Islam.
Secretaries and senior officials from relevant ministries and divisions contributed to the discussions, emphasizing a collaborative approach towards the sustainable development and ecological preservation of Gulshan Lake and its surrounding areas.
