Agast Adhikari, who had been waging a hunger strike representing the sufferers of microfinance, has stopped the strike after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' assured to address problems.
Adhikari met PM Dahal on Sunday. He however warned of resuming the hunger strike at Basantapur if the demands were not met.
PM Dahal held a discussion with chairman of struggle committee against microfinance, Punaram Gyawali, and members of network of six farmers' associations. In the meeting, PM Dahal assured to address the demands of the people suffered by the microfinance.
The struggle committee demanded the government that it addressed their problems from policy level. Forthcoming policy and budget of the government could address this serious issue, the committee argued.
Gyawali informed that they stopped agitation programmes after holding discussion with PM Dahal.
