Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has congratulated the Bangladesh U-20 football team for their victory over India in the SAFF U-20 Championship. Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibly stated that the premier extended his heartfelt congratulations to all players, coaches, and officials of the Bangladesh U-20 football team over the historic victory in the SAFF U-20 Championship.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of patriotism and team spirit, expressing that the young players showcased their ability to secure continued victories for Bangladesh both domestically and internationally. He remarked, “Driven by patriotism and team spirit, our brave young players have proved that united efforts can ensure Bangladesh’s continued victories both at home and abroad, Inshallah.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to promote sports as a viable profession in the country. Tarique Rahman believes that achievements such as this will serve as an inspiration for sports enthusiasts across Bangladesh.
Bangladesh secured the title of SAFF U-20 Championship after defeating India by 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out during the intense final match held at the National Football Stadium in Male, Maldives.
