Dhaka: Five temples in the Dhaka-17 constituency are set to receive Tk 6.5 crore in financial assistance, with each temple receiving Tk 1.3 crore. This announcement comes on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the temples benefiting from this aid include Mohakhali BTCL Public Durga Temple, Sri Sri Shivkali Temple, Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple, and ID Hospital Temple. Abdur Rahman Sunny, the Assistant Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, made the official announcement during a function held in Mohakhali on Monday.
The event was attended by notable figures such as Dhaka Zilla Parishad Administrator Yasin Ferdous Murad, BNP Central Executive Committee member Ramesh Dutta, and the Prime Minister’s Research Officer Abdus Sattar Patwari. Leaders from Dhaka Metropolitan BNP and local units were also present at the occasion.
Sunny stated that beyond the temple donations, various development projects have been initiated in the Dhaka-17 constituency. These projects include the development of roads in Sattola Bosti, enhancements to roads and playgrounds in the BRP area, and the cleaning and beautification of lakes in Gulshan-1 and Gulshan-2.
At the event, Yasin Ferdous Murad emphasized the Prime Minister’s commitment to ensuring development and prosperity for people of all faiths. He mentioned that the Dhaka Zilla Parishad has already started implementing these initiatives aimed at fostering community development.
